Hi, I’m Sam.
When I was very young, thanks to my very own live-in Rabbi (also known as mom), I learned the Hebrew phrase ‘tikkun olam,’ which means that each one of us has a responsibility to repair our broken world.
This drive to fix the world was strengthened by growing up with an amazing older sister who has special needs and the loss of my beautiful aunt Gail to suicide when I was sixteen years old.
My long and winding journey has taken me around the world a few times, to the MIT Sloan School of Management and to the Harvard Kennedy School to learn how I could best serve others, and to professional roles in corporate social responsibility, public health and now, the Biden-Harris administration.
As Vice President of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston and Chair of Samaritans, Inc., the largest suicide prevention organization in MA, it is my honor - and responsibility - to make the world a more just place for all people.
I also fell out of an airplane a few thousand times along the way and I highly recommend it.
